The hinterland hills of Noosa are dotted with small country villages that are full of charm and character.
Half-way between Cooroy and Cooran, with its Majestic Theatre – where black and white silent movies were first shown in the early 1900s – Pomona is a mix of folk and country. Very affordable still, it has both town and acreage lots.
Our outermost hinterland villages, Cooran and Kin Kin are beautiful, peaceful and rustic in feel, but full of life.
Both offer affordable housing, many in the older Queenslander style. There are town lots, small and much larger farming acreages surrounding town. Lush green vegetation and mature trees are the hallmarks of both.
While Cooran is quieter with only a general store, cafe and brewery, Kin Kin boasts the general store and Black Ant cafe, both specialising in local and mostly organic produce. Always worth a visit, even if you don’t live there.
Cootharaba, reached via Pomona or Tewantin, is known for its stands of forest, land for wildlife properties and larger acreages for those wanting room for the family or a home business on useable land.
